This tongue of toasted sand, 670 meters long and 70 wide, is located on the left of well-known beaches such as the Veril, Las Burras or the famous Playa del Inglés. With calm waters and little current, its waves are moderate enough to have fun with children on the shore or jump waves in the sea. For areas where boulders and pebbles predominate, there are establishments where you can rent umbrellas and sun loungers.
For those who, despite wanting to rest, can not avoid doing some activity, this beach is perfect for scuba diving or diving.
San Agustín visitors come to this beach at any time of the year. Either by the sun, by the need to disconnect or dedicate time to oneself, once you try the environment of this Canarian town you will want to repeat one year after another.
The surroundings of the beach of San Agustín have undergone a great change filled with wonderful hotels, shopping areas and a beautiful promenade that runs along the Playa de las Burras and reaches almost the beginning of the Maspalomas Dunes. It is also an area with several spa and thalassotherapy centres.
On the other hand, after a wide and beautiful boulevard, you will reach Playa del Inglés, which is about 20 minutes away on foot. In the other direction, Punta Morro Besudo and Bahia Feliz are located, although this promenade is slightly narrower and steeper. From here you can see impressive views of the rocks, you can see the movements of crabs, fishermen and waves. At the end of the beach is the Cañada de San Agustín, a river that rises in the mountains of Gran Canaria and flows into the sea.
It is a highly recommended beach to go with children because there is hardly any noise, the people who come to this place are calm and quiet. Even nights and weekends, where locals take the opportunity to take a break, a party atmosphere is perceived more relaxed and less noisy than those of more crowded beaches.
